Armenia has faced security threats after accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), RSC Director Richard Giragosian told reporters, Monday, when addressing the current upsurge in tensions in the Karabakh conflict zone.
He said escalation of the situation in the conflict zone has demonstrated that the CSTO is incapable of providing security in the region.
According to Giragosian, there is little probability of announcing official war, at the same time, though local military actions may grow into a spontaneous large-scale war.
To note, since the beginning of the year, Azerbaijan repeatedly mounted sabotage attacks and lost 26 soldiers. Unfortunately, Armenia has lost 10 servicemen on the border.
