Tbilisi. Russia will not punish Georgia for signing the
Associated Agreement with EU, said Russian politician, head of the Russian
Federal Agency for CIS Affairs, Compatriots, Residing Abroad and International
Cooperation, Konstantin Kosachev, at the press- conference in Yurmala, where
the international Baltic Forum was held.
The other day, official representative of
the Foreign Ministry of RF, Alexander Lukashevich, stated that Georgia should
realize consequences of signing the Associated Agreement. In connection with
this Konstantin Kosachev was asked a question what consequences were meant:
whether Russia would close its market for Georgian wines and mineral waters,
territories would be continued seized?"
"I am not aware how much Georgia has
analyzed all legal judicial consequences of the Associated Agreement",
Kosachev said.
"When
Ukraine, led by Yanukovich intended to sign such agreement, we knew exactly
that such analysis had not been made. As far as Georgia is concerned, we do not
know. If Georgia is sure that no any additional obstacles in Georgia-Russia
cooperation appear, its God's will, that the analysis should be correct. We
will be glad to avoid complications in our clouded relations".
"It
is not our style, not our manner, to punish Georgia for some or other
actions", Kosachev said.
