Naira Zohrabyan will head the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) and the former minister of urban development Vardan Vardanyan will become her deputy, a Yerevan-based Hraparak (Square) newspaper writes.
A couple of days ago, the Party Central Office convened and approved Zohrabyan's nomination for the post of the Party leader, while Vardanyan was entrusted with the position of the deputy head of the PAP Political Council.
Meanwhile, it was widely rumored earlier that Vardanyan was linked to the criminal case on embezzlements during the repair of the National Library.
PAP faced misfortunes following the dispute of its leader Gagik Tsarukyan and President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and the Party's retreat from its radical positions. Prosperous Armenia Party cancelled the rally set for February 20 under pressure of the authorities. Before that, several parliamentarians - mainly big businessmen- left the Party.
