Tbilisi. Georgian billionaire, leader of the oppositional political coalition Georgian Dream Bidzina Ivanishvili announced on Thursday, July 19, names of majority candidates in Tbilisi districts in the union's office.
Parliamentary elections in Georgia are scheduled for October of the current year. The Georgian Dream announced launching of the election campaign at the end of May, not waiting for official announcement of the date of the elections and official start of the election campaign.
Candidates from the party of ex-ambassador of Georgia to UN Irakli Alasania Our Georgia-Free Democrats dominate among majority candidates in the capital.
Zurab Abashidze (Our Georgia-Free Democrats) will run for parliamentary elections from the coalition in Samgori, Viktor Dolidze (Our Georgia-Free Democrats) in Chugureti, Tea Sulukiani (Our Georgia-Free Democrats) in Nadzaladevi, actor Zaza Papuashvili in Mtatsminda district, lawyer Shalva Shavguladze in Vake, the Republican Party's leader David Usupashvili in Saburtalo district, sportsman Shota Khabareli in Krtsanisi, leader of NGO Georgian Academy Nukri Kantaria in Isani, republican Vakhtang Khmaladze in Didube, actor, the People's Assembly's representative Soso Jachvliani in Gldani.
Ivanishvili also named majority candidates in some regions of Georgia: one of the republicans' leaders Tina Khidasheli in Sagarejo (Kakheti region), economist and lawyer David Darakhvelidze in Ambrolauri, engineer and lawyer Giorgi Nachkebia in Tsalenjikha (Samegrelo), football player Murtaz Khurtsilava in Martvili, engineer and lawyer Nika Sanodze in Khoni (Imereti), physician Malkhaz Tsereteli in Chiatura.
At the present time the coalition Georgian Dream consists of the Re[publican Party, National Forum, parties Our Georgia-Free Democrats, Georgian Dream-Democratic Georgia, the party Industry will Save Georgia and the Conservative party.
