ArmInfo. There is no alternative to a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. Member of the Armenian delegation Miqael Melkumyan stated this from the rostrum of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
He also raised the problem of Syrian refugees, stressing that it is necessary to find common ways to solve their problems. The MP drew attention to the fact that the Armenian authorities managed to solve many problems of the Syrian refugees without external financing. However, Melkumyan noted that these and other issues can not be resolved without establishing stability in the region and a peaceful settlement of the Karabakh problem. In this context, he stressed the importance of establishing technical installations on the front line of the conflict that would allow investigating border incidents. Other members of the Armenian delegation to PACE, in particular, the head of the delegation, the vice speaker of the parliament Arpine Hovhannisyan and the representative of the Tsarukyan bloc Naira Zohrabyan focused attention on the corruption scandal surrounding PACE head Pedro Agramunt. Arpine Hovhannisyan, in particular, presented Armenia's achievements in the fight against corruption against the backdrop of a corruption scandal in PACE, and Naira Zohrabyan urged the assembly to study the activities of Melissa Markovitz, who made a pro-Azerbaijani report on the Sarsang reservoir, in addition to Aramunt's activities.
To note, at present PACE is collecting signatures on the recall of Agramunt from the post of head of the structure.
