ArmInfo.Today's decision of the Armenian government Republican Karen Botoyan was appointed governor of Gegharkunik region.
Congratulating the newly appointed governor, Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan stressed that he expects from the institute of heads of regional administrations coordinated reforms and new approaches in the work. "In the near future at the American University will start lectures for governors on effective management. The heads of regional administrations will have both balanced rights and duties," the prime minister said. To note, Karen Botoyan was the first in terms of the number of votes cast from the candidates for deputy from Gegharkunik region in the parliamentary elections on April 2. He had about 15 thousand votes. Previously, he was a deputy of the National Assembly of the 5th convocation.
Botoyan was born in 1983. In 2002-2004 he served in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. In 2007 - graduated from the Department of Mining and Metallurgy of Yerevan State Engineering University. In 2011 entered the magistracy of the Department of Political Science of the Faculty of International Relations of the Yerevan State University. He is married and has 2 children.
