ArmInfo.The international human rights organization Freedom House has called Armenia a country with non-free media. Meanwhile, the leader in terms of freedom of press in the region, as in last year's report, remains Georgia, which entered the countries with "partially free" media.
In Freedom House's annual Freedom of the Press 2017 annual report, out of 199 countries and territories included in the rating, Armenia ranks 137 with 63 points.
In general, Armenia is assessed as a "partially free" country, and for the Internet - "free". The best result among the countries of the region was registered by Georgia, which is included in the number of countries with partially free media and where freedom of the press is estimated at 50 points.
The organization included Turkey (163rd place), Iran and Azerbaijan, which share 190th place, in the list of countries with non-free press.
The list is headed by Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium, Denmark, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Andorra and Finland.
