ArmInfo. Educational foundations, especially schools, should hold back off any participation in electoral race. This was stated at the Roman Agrement 60-th anniversary exhibition event opening by Piotr Switalski, the head of EU Delegation in Armenia , commenting the information delivered by Daniel Ioanissyan, the head f Informed Nationals Unit NGO, regarding the involvement of educational foundations in the process of pre electoral race.
"This format is observed by democratic societies. Hence, it is very important that the Ministry of Education and Science of Armenia, as well as local self-governed bodies, especially Yerevan municipality, should undertake liability to rule out any participation of educational foundations in electoral processes," diplomat stated. He added also that this ruling out is very important for EU, because in the nearest future European Union plans to implement a large project in the field of education. According to Switlaski, the impartiality of educational foundations is important exactly for that reason "In the nearest future we plan to allocate about EUR 10 mln for the improvement of high school education."
At the same time Switalski informed that EU collects and records all the information regarding violations, including the facts of involvement of educational foundations in pre-electoral processes.
