ArmInfo. Armenia's turning into Russia's satellite in CSTO is the result of inferiority of Yerevan's policy, the Director of Armenian Institute of International Relations and Security stated his opinion.
"I think we should accept the content of Karabakh conflict related CSTO statements of the absence of those exactly from this point of view, and we should not try to compare those to OSCE statements. OSCE Minsk Group has a mandate to find the path for Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement, while CSTO's function is to protect the security of its member countries," he mentioned. In this respect the expert thinks that the absence of real not declarative allies of Armenia, the problematic policy of Moscow, and the assuredness of Baku in the question of Karabakh conflict in the first turn - is the result of the inferiority of Armenian foreign policy.
In this respect Safaryan does not see any alternative option for OSCE MG format in the Karabakh conflict settlement process and at the same time considers unacceptable for Yerevan continuing the work in this format as non-adequate, like it used to be during all recent years. According to him, Armenia could hardly find anything better than Minsk Group to proceed on with the settlement of the conflict.
