ArmInfo.Turkey plans to raise a concrete wall at the borders with Armenia and Iran, Turkish TV 24 Channel states.
This initiative belongs to the Ministry of Construction of Turkey. It is assumed that the height of the wall will be 3 meters, and the thickness - 2 meters.
In May 2016 an Agreement has been signed between 3 entities - Ministries of Construction, Finance and Defense, in respect to construction of border wall in six districts of the country, within security purposes. It is mentioned, that the aim of raising such a wall is the struggle against terrorism and contraband, prevention of illegal border crossing. Currently the construction of the wall sector at Turkish-Syrian border is under implementation, and it is expected to be finalized by April 2017.
To remind, Armenian-Turkish border is one-legged blocked from 1993 and countries do not have diplomatic relations established.
