ArmInfo. In current conditions only the new agenda on Karabakh will give an opportunity to escape facing dead end, Arman Melikyan, an independent expert and the former Karabakh Foreign Minister.
"To my opinion, to expect any impulses in negotiations process within the existing agenda is reasonless. And only new agenda, that should be created with big deals of Yerevan and Stepanakert, which is compulsory, will be able to give an impulse to this suspended process, and to bring peace to our people," the expert stated."
Melikyan accentuated that the April war in various meanings was the result of active promotion of Madrid Principles, supported by OSCE MG co-chairs. According to his estimates, the political consequence of the April was the impossibility to continue the negotiations on the basis of old agenda, which could be applied just and only if the status quo of April 2016 is recovered.
In this meaning the expert considers impossible the return of Armenian side to negotiations within previous terms and conditions, as far as those contradict interests of Armenia and Artsakh. At that, according to his estimates the combat activities risk will keep existing until Yerevan and Stepanakert offer new initiative in the negotiations process
