ArmInfo.Republic, Civil Contract and Bright Armenia parties have reached political agreement on pre-electoral consolidation, according to the statement disseminated by Republic Party. Detailed information about it will be made public on December 12.
Previously, the Armenian media outlets reported about negotiations among the opposition forces, which are going to set up a bloc to run in the upcoming parliamentary elections of 2017. Republic Party leader Aram Sargyan has repeatedly stated willingness to cooperate with the opposition forces. Bright Armenia leader Edmon Marukyan also expressed such willingness. Meanwhile, Civil Contract leader Nikol Pashinyan said that that there was only one institutional opposition force - Civil Contract. However, after the failure at the local elections, Pashinyan and his party softened their rhetoric and expressed an intention to join forces with other parties on the threshold of the parliamentary elections.
To note, all the three specified political forces have a pro-Western foreign political course and campaign for Armenia's European integration.
