ArmInfo.The Crimea Resolution voting once again stated prevailing of national egoism in Trans Caucasus countries agenda. Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan once again demonstrated that differences between their foreign policies are much more than similarity, not only in respect to regional security, but also regarding to remote issues, well known Russian expert Sergey Markedonov shares his opinion to Armenian.
On November 15 UN General Assembly approved the Crimea Resolution. In the document mentioned Russia was stated as an aggressor country, and its actions has been estimated as annexation. The Draft was supported by 73 states, 23 voted against, 76 - abstained.
"The demonstrative effect of Crimea and Donbass countinues affecting the development and correction of political decisions in Tbilisi, Yerevan and Baku. It is interesting that Georgia supported the Draft, Armenia voted against it, and Azerbaijan did not participate in voting," Markedonov stated.
Markedonov estimated the results of Georgia voting as consequent, mentioning that Georgia voted for Ukrainian integrity also in 2014, which was the confirmation of Georgia's intention for strategic cooperation with Ukraine.
According to Markedonov, Armenia also was consequent, voting in 2014 against the resolution on territorial Integrity of Ukraine. The expert describes this position of Yerevan first of all with the fact thaqt the Crimea is something lije a "bridge" to the future self-determination of Nagorno Karabakh Republic. The historical cooperation with Russia has been taken into consideration as well.
