ArmInfo. Armenia's Minister of Healthcare Levon Altunyan received US Ambassador to Armenia Richard Mills and USAID Armenia Mission Director Deborah Grieser, the press-service of the Ministry informs.
During the meeting the Ambassador noted that the Armenian and US governments have been partners for 25 years and have been consistent in their efforts to improve health and well being of Armenian nation. We are ready to assist the upcoming reforms in the ministry. We are convinced that due to reforms healthy and successful system will be created relying on its own resources, the diplomat noted.
Altunyan in turn stressed that the Ministry will be consistent in implementation of reforms and providing due medical care to socially vulnerable groups of population.
The sides discussed cooperation in certain areas as well as the issue of reducing corruption risks in the health care sector. In this light Altunyan noted that corruption must be liquidated in the healthcare field via eliminating the causes of it. According to him the Ministry of Healthcare is preparing a relevant proposal, which will be soon presented to the government.
The interlocutors mutually stressed the importance of deepening and expanding cooperation.
