ArmInfo. It appears that the impact of the US presidential election results on the international community will apparently be rather dramatic, ex-foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, independent analyst Arman Melikyan has told ArmInfo.
The official results of the presidential elections in the US have not been summed up yet, however Republican Donald Trump's victory is almost evident, given that he has obtained 276 electoral votes, while Hillary Clinton got only 218. Almost 56.9 mln people have voted for Trump and 55.8 mln for Clinton. The candidate from Democrats has already congratulated Trump over the phone.
"The new US Administration is most likely to distance itself from a number of regional conflicts in the foreseeable future. This will accelerate and deepen the destructive processes in the Middle East, Eastern Europe and maybe in the South Caucasus, as well as in Central Asia," Melikyan says.
In this context, he says, the regional "superpowers" will become independent and more significant. Such reduction in the foreign political and military activity of the US may at a certain point resemble the effect of a vacuum bomb explosion, and the matter concerns not only the specified conflict zones.
