ArmInfo. One can speak a lot about the reasons why when choosing between the two presidential candidates, one of whom was accused of sexual harassment and tax evasion and the other one was accused of corruption and high treason, the US people gave the preference to the former, ex-foreign minister of Nagorno-Karabakh, independent analyst Arman Melikyan has told ArmInfo.
The official results of the presidential elections in the US have not been summed up yet, however Republican Donald Trump's victory is almost evident, given that he has obtained 276 electoral votes, while Hillary Clinton got only 218. Almost 56.9 mln people have voted for Trump and 55.8 mln for Clinton. The candidate from Democrats has already congratulated Trump over the phone.
"All this happened amid the media reports that the experts, analysts and business circles were giving their preference to Hillary Clinton. That it to say, the administrative, financial and intellectual resources were fully used for her victory," Melikyan says.
The analyst recalls that 1.5 months ago he said Hillary Clinton would win the elections unless any domestic political force majeure happened in the US. Melikyan says that the force majeure did happen through the Democrats' self-liquidation literally on the eve of the voting day.
He thinks that the re-launch of investigation into possible high treason of Clinton had a tangible influence on the public opinion and affected the voting results in Donald Trump's favor.
