ArmInfo. Positivity in Russia-West relations is vanishing under our very eyes, Russian analyst Sergey Markedonov told ArmInfo's correspondent.
"If prior to operation in Aleppo the West was considering Crimea, Donbass and Middle East as separate issues now they fit in common logic of Russian revisionism that poses serious threat to the interests of the USA and its allies. In this light even cooperation on partner level becomes problematic", he noted.
In this light the analyst noted that a lot of politicians, experts and mass media in Baku and Yerevan are concerned over deterioration of relations between the West and Russia. According to his assessment both countries expect that such a scenario is fraught with collapse of Karabakh negotiation process amid the superpowers' efforts to play Karabakh card.
At the same time the analyst highlighted Moscow's intention to escape escalation of situation in Karabakh in conditions of growing tensions in relations with the West. Moreover, in his point of view even in such conditions Russia managed to present trilateral "Petersburg" negotiation format as collective efforts of the three Co-Chairs aimed at stabilizing the situation.
