ArmInfo. Our "responsible persons" seek to preserve the situation on the line of contact of the parties to the Karabakh conflict, but the omissions and mistakes made in the past holds us from doing it, says Arman Melikyan, the former foreign minister of NKR, an independent analyst.
As part of its years-long policy of "military diplomacy," Azerbaijan continues its attempts to press Artsakh and Armenia by targeting the Armenian positions and making sabotage attempts. Azerbaijan keeps shelling the Armenian positions killing soldiers throughout 2016, even after the regular ceasefire made in Moscow following the "April war."
"The tactics of keeping the situation on the Line of Contact tense is part of Baku's political approaches. Such policy will continue unless responsible persons on the Armenian sides comprehend that political counter-measures are needed to repel the aggression of the enemy," he said.
The analyst blames also the responsible persons in Armenia and Karabakh for the continuing deaths despite the ceasefire made in 1994.
