ArmInfo. An employee of the Nubarashen penitentiary of the Armenian Justice Ministry has been arrested for assisting attempted drug acquisition and taking a bribe.
As the press office of the Special Investigation Service has told ArmInfo, the pretrial investigation of the criminal case has found out that G.A., the employee of Nubarashen penitentiary, through the mediation of A.K., a convict of the same penitentiary, took a bribe and assisted attempted acquisition and keeping of drugs.
The source says that the attempted transfer of the drugs to the convict A.K. was prevented by the penitentiary employees. G.A. faces charges based on Article 311.2 (Receipt of a bribe by an official for implementation or not implementation of obviously illegal actions within his authority, in favor of the briber or briber's representative) and Article 38-34-268, Part 2, Item 2.
Pretrial detention has been chosen as a measure of restraint against G.A, whereas A.K. faces charges based on Article 38-34-268, Part 2, Item 2. The pretrial investigation is still underway.
