ArmInfo. 14 MPs have applied to the Investigative Committee of Armenia for changing measure of restriction for Andrias Ghukasyan.
MPs Tigran Urikhanyan, Zaruhi Postanjyan, Elinar Vardanyan, Vahe Hovhannisyan, Stepan Margaryan, Khachatur Kokobelyan, Aleksandr Arzumanyan, Tevan Poghosyan, Armen Avetisyan, Vahan Karapetyan, Vahe Enfiajyan, Stepan Demirchyan, Heghine Bisharyan and Levon Dokhoyan signed the document.
To note, on September 24, the court of general jurisdiction of Arabkir and Kanaker-Zeytun administrative districts of Yerevan satisfied the pretrial investigation body's motion to extend the arrest of New Armenia opposition movement member Andrias Ghukasyan for 2 more months. Ghukasyan's lawyer Karen Mejlumyan says that his client is undergoing obvious political persecution. He notes that the specified decision was not unexpected for his client. He says that Ghukasyan is positive- minded and he asks his family not to worry about him. To recall, Andrias Ghukasyan was detained on July 29 during the antigovernment demonstrations when Sasna Tsrer (Daredevils of Sassoon) armed group seized a police compound. He is charged with Article 225.1 (organization of mass unrest) of the Criminal Code of Armenia. Ghukasyan considers himself a political prisoner.
