ArmInfo. The newly-appointed ministers of transport and communication, energy and natural resources, and agriculture are policy makers in their fields. They are also "modest and decent people", Armenian Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said at today's meeting of the Government, when introducing the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Ashot Manukyan, Minister of Agriculture Ignaty Arakelyan, and Minister of Transport and Communication Vahan Martirosyan.
He congratulated the newly-appointed ministers and added that Finance Minister Aramyan is well known in the financial field and that he is well aware of the tasks of the field. The Prime Minister presented the criteria, according to which the new ministers have been appointed. "They are policy makers in their fields. They are modest and decent people and they are carriers of new culture of governance," he said, noting that he expects the new ministers to revise the governance system in Armenia. Karapetyan added that the ministers will shortly present a program on further development of their fields.
"I expect you to take realistic and brave steps. You are the representatives of your fields and you have an opportunity to turn them into your dream fields, change the country and create a good atmosphere," he said.
Karen Karapetyan instructed the minister of agriculture to organize the process of grape procurement. He stressed that the problem is not new. He added that in Aghavnadzor village of Vayots Dzor province Vedi Alco has failed to carry out its obligations. Karapetyan said that various approaches are being discussed to resolve the grape procurement problem.
