Tbilisi. Former member of the Georgian Parliament, Valeti Gelbakhiani, who headed the election headquarters of candidate for the post of the president of the country, at present late businessman Badri Patarkatsishvili - Valeri Gelbakhiani was detained on Monday, February 20, when he was crossing the Armenian-Georgian  border, MoI of Georgia reports.      

                "Valeri  Gelbakhiani  was detained on February 20, 2012 during crossing the Armenian-Georgian border. On January 22, 2008, he was instituted criminal proceeding against, as an accused pursuant part 1 of Article 315 of the Criminal Code f Georgia ( a conspiracy of a riot with the aim of the constitutional system overturn in Georgia", is said in the statement.

                On February 2, 2008 pre-trial detention was chosen for Gelbakhiani as preventive measure. On February 4, 2008 he was announced wanted.

                At the beginning of the  current year Gelbakhiani disseminated a letter, in which he asked to provide him with security guarantees to visit his seriously ill mother.
